Who is involved in the CSL study?

Children’s School Lives is led by Professor Dympna Devine, Assistant Professor Seaneen Sloan, Assistant Professor Gabriela Martinez Sainz, and Assistant Professor Olga Ioannidou UCD School of Education.

A wider team of UCD School of Education faculty and staff, post doctoral researchers, and doctoral candidates are also involved in diverse elements of the study.

The study benefits from national and international collaborators and advisors, and a large team of experienced fieldworkers who work directly with our CSL schools.

A team of up to 40 fieldworkers – with longstanding experiencing of working with children in primary schools assists the CSL team in collecting data each school year.

Research Design

The CSL study uses a cross- sequential longitudinal design, producing a rich
set of mixed methods data. This is generated through a nationally representative quantitative study and in-depth case studies of a sub-sample of schools.
